This guide covers the requirements specific to residents, the documents, the application centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and tips for the summer season when appointments fill up quickly. ## Residence requirements for applying from the UAE - **A valid UAE residence visa:** most embassies require it to remain valid for at least 3 months after you return from the Schengen Area. - **Emirates ID:** the original and a copy. - **Length of residence:** if your residence is very recent, the embassy may ask for proof of your stability in the UAE, or ask you to apply from your home country.
