Editorial Policy and Sources
Why we write these guides
A visa decision depends on small details: a missing document, a date that doesn’t match another, or insurance with less cover than required. We write our guides to help you prepare a complete file before your embassy appointment, with information you can verify yourself.
We know that a mistake about an embassy’s requirements can cost you an appointment, fees or a refusal, so we treat every guide as a document that must be correct on the day you read it, not just the day it was written.
Who writes and who reviews
- Writing: Our guides are written by Travelosca’s content team, and the author’s name appears on every guide with a link to their profile.
- Review: Every guide on visa or insurance requirements is reviewed by our operations team, who deal daily with customer orders and visa centres, before publication and after every update.
- Responsibility: Travelosca is responsible for everything published on the website, and you can contact us about any guide using the details at the bottom of this page.
Sources we rely on
We rely on official sources first, and we link to them inside each guide next to the information we took from them:
- Official websites of the embassies and consulates of the countries we write about.
- Websites of authorised visa centres: VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS International.
- The European Commission and the EU Visa Code (Regulation 810/2009) for everything related to Schengen visas.
- Government bodies in countries of residence, such as the Council of Health Insurance in Saudi Arabia and ministries of health for visitor insurance requirements.
- Official airline websites for everything related to reservations, PNRs and how to verify them.
When sources disagree
If two sources disagree, we follow what the country’s own embassy, or the visa centre serving it in your country, publishes, and we mention the difference in the guide if it matters. We do not take information about embassy requirements from blogs, forums or unofficial websites.
How we verify information before publishing
- We check every requirement, fee and figure against its official source on the day of writing.
- We make sure each guide states which country the reader is applying from, because requirements differ between applicants from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE.
- We write figures exactly as they appear in the source, with the currency and the date they were checked.
- We check place names and general facts, so that no small error undermines the guide’s credibility.
- The reviewer checks the complete guide before it is published.
Updates and the last-verified date
- Each guide shows a last verified date at the top: the last day we checked its information against its sources.
- We review all visa and insurance guides at least once every 3 months.
- We update a guide as soon as we learn of an official change to requirements, fees or the application process, without waiting for the periodic review.
- Fees and prices change, so we always state their date, and we recommend checking the official source before your appointment.
Correcting mistakes
If you find incorrect or outdated information in any guide, send us the link to the guide and the information at Info@Travelosca.com. We review reports within 3 working days, correct the guide if the error is confirmed, and update the last-verified date.
When a correction is significant, such as a change to a requirement or a figure, we note it at the bottom of the guide with the date of the correction.
How our guides relate to our services
Travelosca is a company that sells visa document preparation services, and our guides mention these services when they are useful to the reader. However, we commit to the following:
- Information in a guide comes from the official source, and we do not change it to suit a service we sell.
- We say when you don’t need our services, for example when an embassy does not ask for a hotel booking or an itinerary.
- We never guarantee visa approval in any guide; the decision rests with the embassy alone.
What we don't publish
- Promises of visa approval, or approval rates not supported by an official source.
- Phrases such as “accepted by all embassies” or “completely legal” without evidence.
- Any advice to submit altered documents or reservations that cannot be verified.
- Information about an embassy’s requirements that we have not verified with an official source.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools at supporting stages, such as organising a first draft or proofreading. But every piece of information in a guide is checked by a member of our team against its official source, and no guide is published without a full human review.
